1. About Balad
Balad (بلد) is a marketplace platform that connects independent Lebanese vendors (“Vendors”) with buyers (“Buyers”). Balad is not itself the seller of products listed on the site — each Vendor is responsible for their own store, listings, and orders. By using Balad, you agree to these Terms of Service.
2. Buyer accounts and orders
You agree to provide accurate information when creating an account or placing an order, including a working delivery address and contact number. Orders may be placed through standard checkout or, where a Vendor supports it, over WhatsApp.
3. Vendor accounts and responsibilities
Vendors are responsible for the accuracy of their listings, the quality and legality of the products they sell, honoring orders placed with them, and complying with applicable laws. Vendor accounts operate under a subscription plan; fees and plan limits are described at the time of sign-up and may change with notice.
4. Payments and pricing
Product prices are set by each Vendor and displayed at checkout. Vendor subscription fees are billed according to the plan selected. Balad currently does not charge a commission on individual orders; this may change in the future with notice to Vendors.
5. Refunds, returns, and disputes
Because each order is fulfilled directly by the Vendor, refund and return requests should be raised directly with the Vendor — the “Contact store” link on your order lets you reach them on WhatsApp. Balad may assist in facilitating a resolution but does not guarantee refunds and is not a party to the sale between Buyer and Vendor.
6. Prohibited conduct
You may not use Balad to list or purchase illegal goods, misrepresent yourself or your products, attempt to circumvent platform fees, or interfere with the security or normal operation of the site.
7. Intellectual property
Vendors retain ownership of their product content (photos, descriptions, branding) and grant Balad a license to display it on the platform for the purpose of operating the marketplace. The Balad name, logo, and site design remain the property of Balad.
8. Limitation of liability
Balad provides the platform “as is” and is not liable for the quality, safety, legality, or delivery of products sold by Vendors, or for losses arising from disputes between Buyers and Vendors, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
9. Termination
Balad may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms. Vendors may cancel their subscription at any time; Buyers may stop using the service at any time.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Lebanon.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Balad after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
